The guideline for excavation around electricity pole anchor and the pole guy wire mandates that contractors maintain the minimum allowable distance. The no dig zone begins at grade with a clearance from the pole anchor and guy wire, equaling the depth of the excavation in metres plus 0.6 metres. From these entry points, the no dig zone extends into the ground at 45 degrees on each side. Contractors need to be aware of the ground wire & ground rod in the vicinity of the electricity pole.
