Excavation Around Pole Anchor Guy Wire Guideline
Contractors must maintain a minimum distance from the pole or anchor contractors. Refer to diagram 1.
Excavation within the No Dig Zone requires the approval of a Burlington Hydro Engineer.

Diagram 1: The 'No Dig Zone'
Contractors must maintain a minimum distance from the pole and pole anchor based on the following formula: Depth of Excavation (metres) + 0.6 metres. From these points of entry at grade, the 'no dig zone' extends away at a 45 degree angle. *The 'No Dig Zone' is illustrated with solid red shading and white dashed boarder. Contractors also need to be aware of ground wire & ground rod in the vicinity of the pole. .
