A call ahead to Ontario One Call first, can prevent costly repairs, fines and injuries. BHI recommends using this FREE service whether you’re digging with a shovel or an excavator, for all jobs large or small.

Anytime you dig on a job site, call Ontario One Call first. Whether you’re digging with a shovel or an excavator, be sure to get a locate in advance. Some underground cables or lines are just below the surface. You can contact Ontario One Call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Due to the potential of serious injury or death occurring if an underground cable is accidentally severed, the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act requires that you locate underground cables before you dig.
Before you dig, drill, blast, auger or drive stakes (including fence post spikes) into the ground, call Ontario One Call for information about free underground utility locations.
Ontario One Call notifies all its members who may have underground facilities near or at the proposed dig. They will arrange for free field locates, where appropriate.
Please call at least five working days before you are scheduled to start your work. Additional notice may be required during the busy spring season.
Prevent costly repairs due to accidental dig-ins. Maybe even save a life. Never assume you know the location or depth of a cable.
